CC-7 “Groundskeeper”

PRINTABLE SPEC SHEET

Origin Story

Recovered from a long-sealed broadcast maintenance lab in Tulsa, Oklahoma, CC-7 “Groundskeeper” was first designed as a mobile relay tester for early AM radio transmitters. The lab engineers—pressed for resources—built the unit’s casing from a Cain’s Coffee Co. tin, known for its tight seal and conductive metal finish.

Originally assembled to measure ground resistance and audio signal clarity, the unit’s onboard relay system doubled as a crude broadcast stabilizer, keeping rural transmission lines humming through storms and static. When R3BOTS technicians rediscovered the chassis, it was partially fused to its original test bench—wires intact, speaker plate corroded but functional.

The restoration revealed an elegant simplicity: an analog coil, a Calrad speaker head, and a green-labeled “Machine” solenoid unit—each perfectly tuned to stabilize audio frequencies. Once powered, CC-7 emitted a low hum resembling background radio noise—a steady heartbeat of forgotten frequencies.

Now fully operational, CC-7 serves within the R3BOTS Communications Division, ensuring that every Field Ops signal stays strong and stable, from the factory floor to the far edge of transmission range.
